As the weather has been so lovely and sunny recently, I suddenly felt I must start a more summery project. I know, I know, I have several knitting projects on the go already but I am a big believer in following the inspiration, wherever it happens to take you, even if it means leaving some other projects half done for the moment. After all, crafting is meant to be fun, not a job.
Having said that, I do admit I tend to bounce from one project to another and have a fair amount of unfinished projects hidden in my cupboard as well as a tendency to buy materials for future projects long before I actually get round to starting them. In crafts at least, I don’t seem to do focus. But variety is the spice of life as they say.
The new crochet project is the “Corsica” cardigan from Marie Wallin’s Summer Crochet book, published by Rowan. It is a lovely book, with lots of designs that I really like, so I can see this book becoming my summer time classic for crochet projects.
The yarn is Rowan’s Siena 4 ply, in my favourite sea green colour. Most of the cardigan is made with just simple half-treble stiches, ideal for uncomplicated crocheting while listening to podcasts or watching telly. It’s also a great project to take to the garden on sunny days.
