Trillian scarf by Heidi Tyrvainen

This Trillian scarf was my handbag project during my summer holidays. It’s a great, easy pattern that uses just one skein of yarn, so it was ideal for carrying around. And the pattern is so simple you don’t need to take any instructions with you, even if you end up knitting it in a pub after a few drinks…

The pattern is particularly suitable for variegated yarn, as the changing colours bring out the diagonal pattern beautifully. I used Unique Sheep’s Tinsel Toes sock yarn in  Orange Gold.  Feeling very smooth and almost cotton-like, the yarn would certainly have made lovely socks, but I love the colours of this yarn too much to hide it in socks.

I love colour wherever I find it, in art, photography, gardens, nature. I also love all kinds of fiber arts; spinning, dyeing, knitting, felting, sewing.
