Knitting socks from Trekking XXL yarn

I’ve definitely been in a sock knitting mood recently. However, I abandoned the very colourful sock I last blogged about as I really wasn’t sure about it. I haven’t unravelled it yet, but I haven’t knitted the other one either. Time will tell what will be the faith of that sock…

I am a woolly sock kind of a girl, I wear them instead of slippers, on top of my normal cotton socks,  at least for three quarters of the year. It really has to be a very warm weather before I abandon my woolly socks, let alone the cotton ones underneath. Most of my current socks have been knitted either by my mum or my aunt in Finland, and they are from quite a thick wool. Now that the warm season is approaching, I need some slightly thinner woolly socks for the summer (yes, really!! )

So, I picked a another sock yarn, Trekking XXL (colour 417), and started again. The yarn is still colourful, but this time the colours are less bright, a bit more natural looking – the kinds of colours you could get if you dyed your wool with natural dyes.  I like them very much.

I love colour wherever I find it, in art, photography, gardens, nature. I also love all kinds of fiber arts; spinning, dyeing, knitting, felting, sewing.
