Enjoying the heatwave (by knitting in the garden)

Sock Yarn Blanket Here in the UK  the weather has been wonderfully sunny and warm for the last couple of weeks, and this week the spring has suddenly turned into a real summer.

Everyone’s amazed – it’s a bank holiday weekend and it is sunny all weekend!

This has had a big impact on my craft projects, as I am spending all the available time in the garden. So sewing has been out, knitting and crochet have been very much in. In fact I’ve been having a real knitting fever, and the sock yarn blanket has seen good progress.

Apart from a few mistakes in the beginning I’ve now perfected my technique and all the little squares are facing the right direction.

I have now used all the colours I received just a week ago. Luckily though there’s another little parcel of sock yarn making its way across the Atlantic from another Ravelry friend. Can’t wait!

I love colour wherever I find it, in art, photography, gardens, nature. I also love all kinds of fiber arts; spinning, dyeing, knitting, felting, sewing.
